Welcome to
Seattle Gymnastics
Academy
&
A little about us: Seattle Gymnastics Academy, Inc. is a progressive
gymnastics program located in both Seattle and
Spokane, Washington. We are here to develop strength, skill and
character through gymnastics training. We are committed to providing
the best programs in the area in a fun and safe gym.
SGA has two facilities in the Lake City area of Seattle totaling
26,000 square feet and a 7,000 square foot facility in Spokane
(Spokane Elite Gymnastics). SGA employs around 70 people
teaching, curently, over 2,000 students everything from body
control starting with 18-month old children to progressive and
competitive gymnastics. We also proudly offer the Seattle
Preschool, a unique morning-or-afternoon program featuring
exploratory learning and movement focuses with gymnastics every day. Our
11:30 AM- 12:45 PM Indoor Playground
is a hit among the city's 1-5 year olds as well.
All our classes run year-round.
We have three 13-week sessions (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and
one 7-week summer session that roughly parallel the Seattle and
Spokane school schedules. Children may start at any time and
pay only pro-rata charges for the session. Open registration
for the Winter 2007 session is going on now.
Do you know about
SGA's MAGIC program?
No, we're not teaching children
to pull a rabbit out of a top hat, but rather it is a set of
progressive gymnastic classes to improve strength, flexibility,
and skill development. MAGIC is our mantra and what we seek to
instill in each of our gymnasts:
Motivated.. Athletic..Graceful..Independent..Competitive..young
women!
In our MAGIC program we strive
to develop a love for the sport and a lifelong love of being
active. Recreational classes are lightly structured using a variety
of gymnastics equipment, with many options for exploration. The
emphasis is on movement and body awareness. In contrast, MAGIC
classes are highly structured and use workstations and team games
to emphasize strength, flexibility and body control in specific
skills. MAGIC gymnasts usually use our Glade Training facility
and SGA's Junior Olympic competitive team staff teaches the classes.
Instructors follow the formal USA Gymnastics curriculum to develop
skills in a fun, safe and exciting format.
Finally, MAGIC gymnasts get to
wear team leotards and participate in the annual MAGIC show!
MAGIC classes are for girls ages 3-8. To find out more about
this exciting program, please contact the Registrars or the Team
Director, Amy Linhardt at (206) 267-3108.

SGA's Intermediate
Rec-Op Team Takes 1st
SGA's Rec-Op Gymnasts traveled
down to Gym Elite in Tumwater, WA on Sunday to participate in
their last meet before the State Championships. The Intermediate
Rec-Op girls had a fabulous meet and took home the 1st place
team plaque. This is the first team award the Intermediate
girls have won, and we are extremely proud of them. In
the 8 and Under division, Mackenzie Runciman won 1st on Vault,
Bars and the All-Around; teammate Caroline Wagner took 2nd. In
the 9 year old age division, SGA's Abigail Wagner took 1st, followed
closely behind by 2nd place Marley Cross who also took first
on Bars. In the 10 year old division, Celina Schuler took
3rd place All Around and Sarah Hall won 1st All Around in her
11 year old age group as well as taking 1st on Bars. All
the girls really contributed to helping SGA win the team award,
