Alec Bye

Hometown:
Shoreline, Washington
Graduated From:
Shoreline Christian School, University of Miami with a degree in Music Engineering (BM) and Computer Science
Started at SGA:
Winter of 2007

Alec trained for five years as a competitive gymnast. He took two years of gymnastics at Seattle Gymnastics Academy and 3+ years at Cascade Elite. Although he was a competitive gymnast himself, Alec's focus is now to coach recreational gymnasts. He wants every kid to come out of his class with a healthy sense of adventure and the strength and coordination to match it.

Alec coaches a wide ranged of classes at SGA. His favorite age group to teach is the 5-6 year olds because he appreciates how they begin to truly understand how to achieve a goal. They are a ton of fun- willing to play games and still small enough for him to throw them around in the Foam Pit- and still have a sense of wonder. Alec's favorite events to teach are the tumbling events. These are the Floor Exercise, Trampoline and Vault. He enjoys seeing the kids improve as the class moves through their progression of skills.

Alec loves playing games, trying new things and encouraging kids to be adventurous. While his main focus is on teaching and coaching gymnastics, he also tries to have as much fun as he can.
