Joyce has been involved with rhythmic gymnastics for over 60 years. She trained and competed in England from 1948-1974 before moving to the US. From 1974-1988, Joyce both taught and performed Liturgical Dance at Sand Point United Methodist Church in View Ridge while also serving as the Chairman of the NW Sacred Dance Guild, performing from Portland to Canada. In 1988, she started a competitive, rhythmic gymnastics program at SGA. In 1990, Joyce was named Coach of the Year by the USGF Coaches Association!

Joyce is presently the chairman of Region 2 Rhythmic USA Gymnastics and is a certified Level 8 judge. Joyce has also coordinated exhibitions of Rhythmic gymnastics at local sporting event half-time shows for the Sonics, Seahawks and Huskies. Joyce heads Human Resources at SGA, helping our 90-odd staff members. Aside from her work at SGA and in the Rhythmic gymnastics world, Joyce also owns a floral design business which she runs from her home on Whidbey Island. Amazing as it sounds, she also squeezes in all types of craft work, dancing, gardening, and playing the piano in her free time.
